That rear pre-cat doesn't look too fun to remove in the car. I don't know what type of manuevering you have to do, but if its something crazy then gutting on the car might be easier....

gotta take off the axle, jon says. we already gutted his old precat, just gotta take my old one off and replace it. f gutting it from underneath the car. i'm generally opposed to consuming metal shards ;)

Yeah, taking out the rear pre-cat requires that the half shaft be removed so it can slide out from the bottom.

It's not a huge deal though. There isn't that much work left to do.

I'd rather drill it from the bottom. Can leave the tire/hub installed. No awkward angles on the precat nuts...But you will have deal with being itchy lol.

from what i've read, first gens can take it out from the top since it's smaller. another joy of owning an obdii...
